Lipid Profile DETAILS
Used to assess so-called ‘good cholesterol’ versus ‘bad cholesterol’ levels and to check the risk of morbid conditions associated with high blood fat
Our Full Lipid Profile test basically consists of Total cholesterol (TChol), Triglycerides, HDL-Cholesterol (HDL-C), and LDL-Cholesterol (LDL-C). In addition, various computed values such as VLDL, TChol/HDL-C, HDL-C/LDL-C ratios are given. The lipid profile can be performed as a fasting test (requiring about 10 hours after last meal) or as a routine without fasting requirement. To perform this test you will need to visit your laboratory of choice for the collection of a Blood sample.
Disclaimer: Laboratory test results are NOT to be interpreted as a "stand-alone" item. Test results have to be interpreted after correlating with suitable clinical findings and additional supplemental information/tests. The meaning of your tests results will be explained by your healthcare providers, based on additional information you provide them.
